Located 35km outside of Moshi town near the village of Rundugai, Kikuletwa Hot Springs will amaze you with its turquoise waters and lush green vegetation mostly comprised of palm and fig trees with winding roots. The water is not truly hot but rather warm and refreshing as it is fed by Mount Kilimanjaro. There is an undercurrent that will allow for quite a good workout when swimming against the current from one pond to the other, as well as large tree branches and a rope from which the more adventurous travellers will enjoy jumping into the lagoon like Tarzan!

Another unique feature of Kikuletwa Hot Springs is the presence of Garra Rufa Fish. These fish, sometimes called doctor fish, eat the dead skin off the feet revealing smooth, callous-free skin. You will therefore emerge from your swim with freshly exfoliated feet if you allow the fish to nibble on them! 

You will be free to enjoy your day in any way you want:  swimming in the lagoon, lying in the sun, getting a fish pedicure, monkey watching, chatting with the locals who sell drinks and food around the hot springs… or all of the above!

The drive to Kikulweta will take approximately 1 hour from Moshi. You will pass through typical African towns on the way, as well as drive on a rough road that will take you past forestland, riverbeds and acacia trees.
